The Perth and Kinross Local Network started up again in the summer of 2026. In June representatives from seven different congregations met together at St John’s Episcopal Church. They shared with each other updates on what actions are being undertaken in their congregations including garden projects, community engagement, involvement with fairtrade and working towards net zero.

Our local networks are run by volunteer conveners from local congregations. Here is what they said about their first gathering.

‘It’s so encouraging to get together with other eco-congregations and find out what they are doing and and also hear about some of the challenges, from lack of volunteers to getting the balance right between wild and more formal parts of church gardens. Very inspiring, enjoyable and great fellowship.
– Karena Jarvie (Kinross-shire Parish Church)
‘The meeting was quite amazing – 15 folk..It was interesting to hear how many congregations have a strong focus on their grounds and the environment.’
– Elaine Cameron (St John’s Episcopal Church)
